What I’d say makes “Concerto For Humanity” even more engaging to watch is the absolutely amazing work that Larry Tuttle has done to score the film – the music is a crucially soothing aspect that often provides incredible contrast to what you’re seeing in scenes of protest or shots of our humanity in all of its various states of disrepair. – INDY RED
It’s a documentary that evokes such masterworks as Koyaanisqatsi – especially when you realize that the music featured was written specifically for the film (by Larry Tuttle), much like Philip Glass’ instantly iconic compositions for the 1982 experimental classic. The title itself is particularly fitting because music plays such an important role in the overall experience. Larry Tuttle’s original score is excellent, functioning as far more than simple accompaniment. The music provides much of the film’s emotional weight, helping to shape the mood and connect the various images into a cohesive whole.
